My intentional morning practice

There is one thing I know for sure, we are nothing without our health. Material wealth ain’t shit if you’re sick as a dog. You can have a $150 watch or a $150,000 watch, they both tell the same time. If that time is running out then who fucking cares about how much that watch costs? As time is ticking away, we creep closer to the inevitable. What we do with that time amounts to a well lived life. In my opinion a good life starts with a consistent morning routine focused on your wellbeing.

I am sure you’ve heard the saying that goes something like, ‘a great morning leads to a great day’. A great day leads to a great week. A great week leads to a great month. A great month leads to a great year… blah blah blah, you catch my drift. How do we ensure we have a great day, week, month, year, life? For me it is my list of eight things I choose to do every morning. I do these consistently but if I am being honest I would give myself a score of 7.5/10… there is always room for improvement. Sometimes I struggle with meditation and if that is the case then I do a little tapping session instead. Sometimes I don’t want to work out but I always feel better after the fact. It’s not about being perfect, it is about being consistent. Here is what I try to do every morning.

  1. Gratitude journal. Magical Morning Practice - I have been consistent with my magical morning practice for a year. I discovered this practice through Gala Darling. It’s about speaking your future life plans into existence. I have a wonderful magical morning practice partner named Danny and we voice memo our gratitude, goals and future plans through WhatsApp. The key is that we speak about the future as though is has already happened. First we start with our gratitude, what are you grateful for? Be playful with this, don’t just say some basic shit. Then we speak about our day as if it has already happened. Then we go into our future plans as through we have already manifested it. It really works. I have accomplished quite a few of my goals by speaking this into existence.

  2. Mediation or Tapping - Ten minutes of either of these after I do my MMP to hone in on the goals and dreams I just spoke into existence.

  3. Massage face with oil - I am trying to get into face yoga…I don’t even want to get into this here. Google it. Check it out on Instagram. I am doing face stretches and massaging my face with oil first thing in the morning to help reduce puffiness and wrinkles.

  4. Exercise - No brainer. Absolutely essential. Weight training, getting your heart rate up and moving your body is mandatory. If you aren’t doing this everyday then don’t do anything on this list until that becomes a habit.

  5. Balanced Nutrition - I eat whole foods. I limit packaged foods. I eat from the produce isle. I eat from the outskirts of the grocery store. I try and get my meat from local sources. I cook for myself and I never use seed oils. When I do indulge in sweets and treats it is around my moon cycle and it doesn’t count then. Teehee. So my breakfast is always real food. A protein smoothie full of delicious fruits or eggs and avocado.

  6. 8-10k steps - If you don’t like to work out then start with a walk in the morning and then after dinner. There are studies saying that it is very good for you to go for a walk right after dinner. I don’t know who said it but I listen to this advice and it makes me feel good. My morning walk is essential especially since I sit most of the day.

  7. Getting into nature - Grounding in nature by removing your shoes and standing in the grass is one of the most natural ways to calm your nervous system. We are one with nature but we have been so disconnected from it that it has become bad for our health. During my morning walk I usually sit on my favourite tree or take my shoes off and ground to the earth. During the winter months in Canada I will simply put my hands on tree and have a moment.

  8. Mandatory 8hrs of sleep - Needed for brain health, body recovery and ageing. Cuz science and biology! Yaddy yaddy yadda…

Well there you have it, this is my morning routine and these are my lifestyle essentials. I think they will lead to a sexy future of ageless beauty, fulfilled dreams and a healthy life worth living. Feel free to tell me if you are adding any of these to your routine in the comments below.
